Must- Read List:
- Without a doubt, the best book I’ve read so far is The Wife Between Us. I literally can’t recommend this enough! I absolutely loved all the twists and turns – psychological thriller. This book is so similar to Last Mrs. Parrish. This is also good, but not as great. Both will keep you guessing until the end!
- Tied for Second Orphan Train and Before We Were Yours. Both historical fiction and very similar to one another about illegal adoptions but reallllly good stories that need to be told, especially Before We Were Yours.
- Really relevant today, and pretty long, but will have you sucked in right away is Jodi Picoult’s Small Great Things. Realistic, Contemporary fiction about race and a hospital case between a black nurse and white supremacist family. The end is also shocking! (Really, all her books are great!)
- So this book led me to read all her other books, and I really enjoyed them all. But it’s One Perfect Lie by Lisa Scottoline. This is also realistic fiction/ mystery and has you second guessing everything and some good turns.
- Lie to Me by J.T. Ellison. Another psychological thriller where I thought I knew what was going on and you’re torn between loving the characters and hating the characters. I didn’t know what was going on until the very end!
- This should actually probably be higher, but The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. It’s actually going to be a movie! Historical fiction (which I thought I didn’t love, but the three books on this list are so great). It is such an amazing story about Nazis and WWII in Germany and France. This story is just so good and incorporates history, romance, action, and some mystery.
- Also, I know I loved this historical fiction story, and it was a little heartbreaking (but I read it a while ago before I started documenting my books, just being honest!) is The Light Between The Oceans.
- Definitely liked this book, but wasn’t one where I necessarily thought about it after I was finished, Little Fires Everywhere. Contemporary Fiction … but it takes place in Cleveland and is about two families that are drawn together and then torn apart by one event and we watch how it affects them both. I think the most exciting part now is it’s going to be a series on Hulu!
- This book was so great but so heartbreaking. Really light, and easy read… a nice way to break up the psychological thrillers. Wish You Were Here or Blind Kiss (Coming August 14, 2018) by Renee Carlino. Realistic Fiction/ Romance.
- Just finished this and it was really good! A little long, and there were parts (beginning and middle) that were very hard to read and some sensitive subject matter, but if you’re able to get through that it is reallly good! The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter. This is more realistic fiction/ mystery/ suspense. It’s like reading Law and Order SVU. I haven’t read her others yet, but have heard all good things about those!
- The cutest Rom-Com in book form. This is such an easy read, great for a vacation or just lounging around and will have you laughing out loud. The Hating Game by Sally Thorne is realistic fiction, Rom-Com book.
